Supporting Young Musicians and Musical Activities in Staffordshire

FOSYM seeks a Fundraiser

Fundraising Opportunity

Friends of Staffordshire’s Young Musicians is looking to appoint an experienced fundraiser to help us raise the necessary grant funding and sponsorship to allow us to become the lead funder of a crucial opportunity for young musicians in Staffordshire.

FOSYM has historically provided some support to enable young musicians (including choirs) to take part in workshops leading to an annual showcase event at venues including Victoria Hall, Hanley, Symphony Hall and the NEC Arena.  Due to reductions in funding following the reorganisation of music services nationally, and to ensure such an important opportunity can continue to be provided, the Trustees would like to become the lead funder of this Project in 2015-16 and now seek to appoint an experienced fundraiser to secure the necessary grant funding and sponsorship to allow it to take place.

The successful candidate will have a track record of securing grants, major donations and corporate sponsorship and will have the experience necessary to take details of previous events and create a credible Case for Support for the Project to continue. Full documentation from courses and events in previous years is available, including feedback received (from which we know that this activity has been a very exciting and fulfilling experience for the large numbers of young people involved, and their parents/carers). Indicative costings suggest a £35,000 fundraising target.

If you are excited by this challenge and have the skills and experience necessary to allow us to maintain this opportunity for young musicians in Staffordshire, please email us your initial written proposals. You will need to demonstrate that you can deliver the level of funds required, and you should include references for previous successful fundraising and your remuneration expectations.
