    Staffordshire County Chorus is performing its annual Oratorio at Burton Town Hall on Sunday 28 February 2016.

    Taking its theme from the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare's death, the programme includes Shakespeare Songs by Quilter and Arne and Fauré's Requiem.

    Performing solos will be Daisy Mitchell and Edward Robinson - two past winners of the John WR Taylor Staffordshire Young Singer of the Year competition.

    The performance starts at 5.30pm and tickets are available on the door.

    9:30 - 16:30Entrust Riverway Centre, Stafford, ST16 3TH

    This popular annual competition returns again in 2016 with heats taking place all day at the Entrust Riverway Centre all day on Saturday 5th March.

    Singers of all styles and genres are expected to compete, with the top performers selected to perform in the Grand Final on Saturday 14th May 2016.

    Prizes donated by Friends of Staffordshire's Young Musicians.

    Young musicians from Staffordshire will be competing all day at the Entrust Riverway Centre all day on Saturday 5th March for places in this year's annual Young Musician of the Year competition.

    A wide variety of instrumental performances will be heard, with the top performers selected to perform in the Grand Final on Saturday 10th July 2016.

    Prizes donated by Friends of Staffordshire's Young Musicians.

    A day of music performed by young musicians from across Staffordshire.

    The competition is part of Stafford Music Festival.

    Tickets are £8 (£6 senior citizens and £4 students/children) and will be available on the door. Please come and support our talented young singers.

    The seven finalists, aged between 11 and 17, were selected from heats held in March and are hoping to follow in the footsteps of previous winners including Alice Dix and Ed Robinson who are now pursuing their singing at university and conservatoire.

    The event is in carol service format and is free, with donations to FOSYM.
